Who We Are

Dr. Sarah Herchel brings over two decades of expertise in higher education administration, with 15 years dedicated to academic leadership roles at the dean or provost level. She has contributed her skills to several Boston-based institutions, such as Boston University, Babson College, and Tufts University. Her academic background spans administration, policy, and planning, complemented by a Ph.D. concentrating in adult learning development. Her teaching experience includes graduate-level courses and faculty-facing workshops on inclusive leadership and effective mentoring relationships.
Throughout her career, Dr. Herchel has led teams across academic leadership, student affairs, and student services, developing academic programs, creating teaching and learning professional development opportunities, mentoring, and enhancing student engagement and success. She is a data-driven leader, with a focus on assessment and educational program outcomes. She has shared her insights at national conferences, such as UPCEA and AAACE, focusing her research on online learning environments, student achievement, and mentorship. Her driving force is advancing innovation within higher education and building supportive infrastructure for success, both for learners and the bottom line.

Building a Culture of Student Engagement University-wide Strategy and Implementation
Led the development and implementation of a university-wide student engagement strategy focused on strengthening community, connection, and participation across the learner experience.
The work brought key stakeholders together to understand and align existing engagement efforts, establish shared priorities, and develop the infrastructure needed to communicate opportunities more effectively to learners. A university-wide student leadership group was established and sustained to ensure student voice, partnership, and advocacy remained central to the work.
